• The domain name, including any emails connected to that domain
• All website assets, such as image files, headshots, infographics, links, and site design
• The website’s legal content, namely blog posts and articles

If trying to get ownership over these rights or use your websites assets elsewhere, especially when trying to switch to a new website provider, lawyers can find themselves being asked to pay a substantial fee in order to do so.²

When working with Nutmeg Sites, we always explicitly give our clients full ownerships rights of the final website in its entirety, as well as any included designs, code, or content.

One all too common criticism with many of the larger law firm website providers is that attorneys suddenly feel trapped when they want to work with a different company for any website or online marketing services. Many contracts impose harsh penalties for termination of their services, and require notice of cancellation many months in advance.³

When working with Nutmeg Sites, we always provide our clients with a contract cancellable at any month. Should you want additional work in the future, you are more than welcome to do so, or to work with a different company instead. We also allow cancellation at any point during the development process, while only billing for the work completed up until that point.
